PARKMAN, MISSOURI

Parkman, Missouri. A good place to start a family. Mostly middle-class with decent schools. You can get a job at the railroad pretty easily, and they pay alright. A diner, a movie theater, and a record/book store exist if you're looking for things to do. Youths are kept mostly at bay from the typical small-town boredom thanks to the help of a healthy punk rock music scene and a bizarre journalist-turned-deejay with an eclectic radio station and a knack for parties. Townspeople occasionally see strange objects in the sky at night, and a doomsday cult has sprouted up as a result. Similarly strange, people go missing sometimes. Tales about the surrounding forest have popped up as a result. Wives' tales, mostly, but every once in a while, there's something that sounds just real enough to raise the hairs on your neck. And people die sometimes, too. As in, before their time. Not often, but just enough to be slightly abnormal for a town of this size (~3,000). Just don't stay out too late at night, and stuff like that shouldn't be an issue. That's when the criminal underbelly is out. Mostly drug-related stuff, started by descendants of depression-era bootleggers. But avoid them, and you're fine. The cops certainly do, to decent success. There's an underlying sketchiness (what place wouldn't have some?), but when avoided, Parkman is pretty nice. A good place to start a family. SITE CREATED BY NON-ISSUE PRODUCTIONS!
